Job Description:
St. John Vianney High School seeks a full-time, highly qualified Director of Student Services to begin the 2021-22 school year. The ideal candidate has the ability to build strong relationships with students and is dedicated to Catholic education. 

Primary Function:
  • To lead the Students Services Department, including college and career counseling, academic and wellness counseling, and our academic support services
  • To develop, implement, and oversee our comprehensive, four-year counseling curriculum
  • To provide counseling services to our students
The Director of Student Services reports to the Assistant Principal of Academics and is responsible for supervising all aspects of the Student Services team, including the following:
  • Oversee the development and growth of college and career counseling curriculum and the development of a plan for evaluation of its objectives
  • Collaborate with Principal and Assistant Principal of Academics to implement a counseling framework and essential understandings that support mission and goals of school
  • Review school data to ensure the Student Services team is meeting the academic, college/career, and personal/social development of all students.  Utilize the data to compile the annual School Profile
  • Lead the Student Services team
  • Collaborate with Counselors, Learning Consultants, Faculty and Staff to ensure overall successful academic, wellness, and college and career preparation of our students
  • Advise counselors about the college admissions process, trends, procedures, financial aspects and testing to assist students and families 
  • Oversee all communication between the Student Services team and students & families
  • Maintain membership in professional organizations and attends professional development to stay on top of best practices and ensures that the Student Services team members do the same
  • Oversee school wide assessments, including the administration of standardized tests such as SAT, ACT, PSAT, and ACT Aspire.  Serving as AP Coordinator, and working with the Learning Consultants to arrange for or extended time on these tests, as warranted
A highly qualified candidate will exhibit the following characteristics: 
  • Ability to present to large groups of students and families, including teaching classroom lessons on a variety of topics
  • A willingness to collaborate with colleagues, faculty, administration and the community on behalf of students
  • Supervisory experience
  • Master's degree 
  • Strong knowledge base in college and post-secondary counseling. 
Candidate minimum requirements:
  • Promote our school’s Catholic, Marianist mission throughout all aspects of their role
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrated technology skills with various computer programs including Naviance
  • Maintain accurate and complete records
