Job Description:
Hannibal Career and Technical Center is seeking a dynamic instructor for a new Career Pathways to the Teaching Profession for the 2021-22 school year. Interested applicants should visit  to apply for the position.

Course Rationale:
This collaborative program helps prepare secondary students for future careers in education and training.
It is designed to:
  • Recruit quality Senior students for the education profession
  • Provide students with information about the challenges and opportunities offered by a career in education and training
  • Provide students a seamless pathway to a career in education and training through academic coursework, study of the profession, and experiential learning activities with the potential for advanced knowledge and college credit
 Teacher Qualifications:
  • Hold a valid Missouri Professional Teaching License and have Family & Consumer Sciences Certification.  Hired instructor may apply for temporary certification while full certification occurs.  Instructor must pass the Missouri Educator Gateway Assessment for K-12 Family and Consumer Sciences 038 to become certified in Family & Consumer Science. 
  • Have a minimum of five years teaching experience
  • Applicant must have a Master Degree with focus in curriculum & instruction, teaching & learning, or administrative.  Master’s degree must be in the field of education.  Special Education experience is recommended. 
  • Must attend state wide training on May 13-14, 2021
 Dual Credit
  • Qualified instructor will be working closely with Hannibal-LaGrange University and/or MACC to align curriculum to meet requirements for dual enrollment.
  • Instructor will receive a stipend from Hannibal-LaGrange University and/or MACC for students enrolling in dual enrollment.
  • Class options may include but are not limited to: EDU 100 Field Experience I (.5 credit), EDU 200 Field Experience II (.5 credits), EDU 203 Curriculum & Instruction (3 credits), EDU 213 Literacy for Diverse Learners (3 credits), EDU 223 Psychology of Learning (3 credits), EDU 273 Psychology & Education of the Exceptional Child (3 credits)
Professional Development
  • Attend the program-specific training prior to applying for Career Education Program Approval.
  • Annually attend state or nationally sponsored professional development.
  • Participate in program-related professional organization(s) such as Missouri Educators of Family and Consumer Sciences (MoEFCS), Missouri Association for Career and Technical Education (MoACTE), Missouri State Teachers Association (MSTA), Missouri National Education Association (MNEA)
