Job Description:
The Lonedell R-4 School District is planning to hire “off-duty” certified Policy Officers/Deputies to serve on our security team for the 2020/2021 school year. Applicants must be actively employed and commissioned as a Law Enforcement Officer in Missouri. 
The shifts are generally 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM. Occasionally, additional shifts are requested for extracurricular activities held on campus. Security team personnel are expected to work a minimum of (2) shifts per month. Compensation is $28.00 per hour and paid monthly by the District. Uniform polo shirts are provided by the District.
The job description is as follows:
Job Title: Security Officer                               Classification: Support Staff
The School Security Officer provides safety and welfare of students during classroom and non-classroom activities; minimizes the frequency and/or severity of harmful incidents; and communicates observations and/or incidents that have a potential impact on the general well-being of students, school personnel and/or visitors.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
  1. Be able to respond to critical situations
  2. Conducts routine patrols of assigned facilities to include buildings, parking lots
  3. Serves as a visible armed security officer on campus during daily school hours
  4. Provides covert armed security for crowd control at extra-curricular activities and special events
  5. Maintains paperwork as requested related to activities that may include activity logs and time sheets
  6. Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator
  7. Must be able to effectively communicate with both public and school personnel
  8. Assist administration team as a liason to local law enforcement who may be investigating law violations
  9. Intervenes in potential conflicts and emergency situations for the purpose of minimizing disruptions of campus activities and/or injury to involved parties
  10. Prepares variety of documents (e.g. incident reports, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information
  11. Refers incidents including personal injuries, altercations, suspicious activities, law violations, etc. to appropriate school administration, for the purpose of ensuring follow up in accordance with administration, law violations, site security and student safety guidelines
Physical Fitness
Physical fitness is an everyday part of a security officer’s job. If security officers are not fit, they may place students, staff, citizens and themselves in danger. Prospective security officers must be able to perform:
  1. Push-up endurance 20 within one minute
  2. One and one-half mile run in under 16.50 minutes
  3. Dry fire weapon five (5) times with each hand
  1. Recent active shooter training
  2. Documentation of annual Department firearms qualifications
  3. Must pass criminal history and background check
