Job Description:

DETAILS: 9½-month professional position (1.0 FTE) on a 186 day calendar for 2020-21, with paid sick and personal leave. District-provided benefits package that includes health, dental, life and vision insurance.

COMPENSATION: Salary for this position is in accordance with the Teacher Salary Schedule for the 2020-21 school year. This is a full-time contracted teaching position with benefits.

JOB SUMMARY:  The successful candidate will be part of high-energy and enthusiastic teams of professionals, dedicated to meeting the academic, social and emotional needs of students.  Successful candidates are reliable, show initiative, are self-motivated, and self-directed. Must be able to work with all students and staff to provide academic, social and behavior support for the school.

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree, prefers a degree in education
  • Requires appropriate Missouri teaching certification in Vocal Music (K-12)
  • Prefers prior music teaching experience in a school setting at the elementary level
  • Requires the ability to produce engaging lessons
  • Requires the ability to listen well and take initiative to solve problems
  • Requires strong organizational skills and self-motivation
  • Requires the ability to work with a multi-ethnic, multicultural student population
  • Requires the ability to remain flexible & positive with the demands & assignments of the job without losing sight of the mission, task or assignment
  • Requires the ability to work independently, use good judgment and think quickly and rationally in stressful situations
  • Requires the ability to effectively present information, respond to questions, and interact positively with students, staff, administration, and the community
  • Requires the ability to work as a team player, communicate and collaborate with staff and other professionals
  • Requires willingness to learn new material and attend professional development, conferences and workshops
