POSITION:              Principal – Marion Elementary School      
 
QUALIFICATIONS:   
  • Missouri Certification and minimum three years of teaching experience.
  • Three years of building level administrative leadership experience at the elementary level preferred.
  • Applicant must have a master’s degree in educational administration.
  • The applicant must demonstrate success working with a diverse student population and expertise in the areas of instructional and curriculum leadership with evidence of improving learning outcomes for students.
  • The applicant must possess collaborative leadership skills, strong communications skills, be an effective problem solver and advocate for a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional growth.

EXAMPLE (S) of WORK PERFORMED:
  •  Establishes and maintains an effective learning climate in the school.
  • Supervises, observes and evaluates the performance of all building staff and makes recommendations for employment.
  • Plans, supervises and evaluates the instructional program.
  • Keeps the superintendent informed of the school’s activities and problems.
  • Utilizes data extensively to guide collaborative decision-making in all areas of school improvement.
  • Maintains high standards of student conduct and addresses concerns according to due process rights of students.
  • Make recommendations concerning the school’s administration and instruction.
  • Navigate the political landscape of a large community while keeping the focus on the academic growth of every student.
  • Commits to work hours necessary to meet established goals for school improvement.
  • Develops a building budget and directs and monitors the budget/business/financial matters of the school.
  • Maintains and controls the various local funds generated by student activities.
  • Provides for adequate inventories of school property and for the security and accountability of that property.
  • Develops and administers school operational policies and procedures.  Interprets and enforces district policies and administrative regulations.
  • Serves as chief academic officer of the school providing leadership and guidance on curriculum and instruction.
