Job Description:
Jefferson College is seeking a Director for the Area Technical School. The Director of the Area Technical School (ATS) has responsibility and leadership for operations of the ATS to ensure high quality programs and services. Provide direct oversite of daily operations for the ATS, including building administrator, liaison for student discipline and special services, recruitment and retention of students, policy development and operational procedures, and staff supervision. Provide secondary students enrolled in technical education programs with valuable experiences to support college and career readiness, including targeted career-related events, participation in student organizations, field trips, student recognition for academic excellence, etc. Serve as liaison with external stakeholders, maintaining effective relationships with area K12 partners, DESE, professional organizations, local businesses, and other constituents as needed. Collaborate with appropriate personnel (dean, associate deans and faculty) to ensure assessment of programs, short- and long-range planning for curriculum, instruction, and administrative functions in concert with existing Jefferson College policies, procedures, and strategic plan. Supervise all fiscal operations including the budgeting and expenditures for all funding sources and ensure the fiduciary integrity of all financial reporting. Supervise and coordinate all state and federal secondary accountability requirements and reporting, as well as reporting to sending school districts.

Qualifications: Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university (completed no later than October 1 after date of hire). Two-years of full-time teaching experience. Valid Missouri teaching certificate with Career Education Director certification from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (or be willing to obtain Career Education Director certification from the State of Missouri). Familiarity with federal, state, and local laws relating to secondary and technical education and ability to translate statutory provisions into applicable college policies, regulations and procedures. Knowledge of school accountability structure, evaluation and required reporting.

Compensation: Minimum of $63,885 annually.
