Summary: This administrative position supervises the flow of student data within the Special School District. Plans, documents, and implements procedures for the accurate maintenance and reporting of student data under the direction of the Chief Operations Officer and the District Leadership Team. Collaborates with the Director of Human Resources and other SSD administrators to report special education and career technical education data on MOSIS by partner districts.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Plans, directs, and evaluates systems and procedures involving the flow of student data within the district.
2. Oversees the supervision of the entry and maintenance of student data for consistency and accuracy.
3. Plans and implements in-service training in the use of the student accounting systems.
4. Assists in the development of reports and procedures for conveying student data to district staff and to outside       agencies. 
5. Ensures the provision of data for entry into the DESE Core Data/MOSIS system and supervises the entry process. Responsible for reporting Core Data/MOSIS to DESE. Works with component district personnel to coordinate special education and career technical education data for St. Louis County 22 Component Districts.
6. Coordinates with DESE to interpret student data reporting requirements as outlined in MSIP, ESSA, and IDEA. Working with the MOSIS Division, Core Data Department Special Education Data Coordination Department, Career Technical Education Division, Compliance and Certification Area of DESE as they relate to required State and Federal Reporting.
7. Provides overall direction and data supervision for the Medicaid program with the district. Includes working with third party company to facilitate Medicaid claiming.
8. Develops a budget to reflect the needs in the area of supervision.
9. Reconciles student counts and level of service with VICC for reporting and funding under the Desegregation Program.
10. Coordinates with Career Technical Education Division to ensure all Federal and State reporting is compliant and accurate. Works with the Career Technical Education Division to ensure career-education data is reported correctly to DESE and the 22 component districts of St. Louis County.
11. Coordinates the submission of special education staff data and course assignments/schedules with partner districts to complete MOSIS requirements. These statements may not describe the entire job, but are intended to describe the general nature, essential functions, and level of qualifications and skills required for the position.
12. Works with the Director of Finance and the Independent Auditors on all matters concerning student accounting, and the corresponding funding driven by pupil accounting.
13. Screens, interviews, and recommends to the division head the employment and termination of staff.
14. Supervises, observes, and evaluates the performance of assigned staff (4 clerical & 1 professional).
15. Plans and coordinates the work schedule of assigned staff.
16. Acts as a liaison with software vendors to ensure student data is collected and reported accurately using their tools and programs.
17. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required. • Masters’ degree preferred. • Minimum of three years’ experience reporting student and staff data in the DESE MOSIS system required. • Minimum of five years’ experience utilizing computer applications to collect, interpret, organize and report data. • Knowledge of DESE’s MOSIS requirements for student and staff data reporting. • Experience with SISK-12 data systems preferred.
