Job Description:
McCluer North High School.  Located at 705 Waterford Drive in Florissant, Missouri.  McCluer North High School is committed to challenging students to achieve academic excellence and personal success by providing state-of-the-art instruction and a challenging curriculum within a warm, caring environment in partnership with dedicated parents, staff and community. 
The Athletic Director position reports directly to the building principal and collaborates with the District Athletic Coordinator. The Athletic Director position is responsible for the management of all instructional, operational and financial programs at the High School.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Must have a Missouri Secondary Administrator Certification.
  • Coordinates the 9-12 athletic program in collaboration with principals and coaches to ascertain programmatic needs on an annual basis, as well as prior to each season to ensure consistency of program.
  • Collaborate with middle school athletic programs.   
  • Initiates the recruitment and selection of coaches and makes employment recommendations to the building principal.
  • Initiates the recruitment of 9-12 athletes in collaboration with coaches.
  • Supervises and evaluates all coaches at the high school level.
  • Works with athletic trainer and other staff members to ensure proper records are kept for code of conduct handbooks, athletic physicals, and other necessary paperwork.
  • Verifies and enforces the academic, physical, and behavioral requirements of eligibility.
  • Schedules all high school athletic contests, issues contracts for the contest, and maintains the proper and necessary records. 
  • Ensures officials are scheduled and contracts are issues for all high school contests. Maintains an active file of officials under contract and pays officials following the contact.
  • Arranges transportation for all away high school contests.
  • Supervises high school athletic contests and acts as the host to officials and visiting schools. Oversees the supervision of contest employees and volunteers who work the athletic contest. Arranges for personnel to supervise contests as needed.
  • Supervises athletic funds, ticket sales, fund-raising events for athletics and activities, prepares and administers a detailed operating budget for the athletic program and submits it to the building principal. Orders all equipment and maintains a current inventory of all athletic equipment.
  • Supervises and is responsible of preparation for home contests.
  • Provides leadership for and serves as liaison to high school athletic booster groups and coördinates, with the coaches, the support group for specific athletic programs.
  • Works with coaches and building staff to ensure compliance with NFHS, Title IX, MSHSAA, St. Louis Suburban Conference, and Ferguson-Florissant School District policies and regulations. 
  • Supervises the preparation and verifies all athletic eligibility lists.
  • Serve on building and District level committees.
  • Evaluating teachers 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Principal.
