The Academy for Integrated Arts (AFIA) is an innovative, arts integrated school. Our school community is reflective, dedicated and caring. The unique vision of AFIA embraces arts instruction integrated into the core curriculum as a meaningful part of what students do every day. Additionally, instruction is from a strong constructivist viewpoint and is delivered with developmentally appropriate practices. We are a growing school, thus we must hire new teachers each year. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Engage in powerful, productive partnerships with families and students to ensure that instruction meets the needs of all students
  • Collaborate with the special education team to ensure that files are in compliance
  • Collaborate with the general education and SPED teachers
  • Deliver instruction to students who have identified goals on their IEP
  • Participate on the Student Success Team
  • Support general education students as needed
  • Participate in continual, intensive job-embedded professional development
  • Collaborate in the professional learning environment of the school, with students, families and the community

  • Demonstrate an understanding and ability to implement inquiry-based, project learning
  • Participate in continual, intensive job-embedded professional development
  • Hold or be eligible to hold the appropriate certification
