Job Description:
The Pleasant Hill School District is currently seeking applicants for the position of: Director of Facilities and Support Services

Any combination equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field and/or three years supervisory experience in building operations, maintenance or a related field is preferred.
Plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate all aspects of the Pleasant Hill R-3 School District custodial, maintenance and grounds operations.  This position will work both internally and externally to assure that grounds and facilities are clean, safe, and in good repair.  This position will supervise personnel to assure that there is a healthy and clean environment for all students, staff, and patrons of the district.  This will serve to facilitate the primary purpose of educating students and protecting the assets of the school district. This position will also work directly with the district’s contracted services in Transportation and Food Service.
  • Experience in a supervisory capacity, good customer service skills
  • Possess ability to handle stress and make mature and sound judgments
  • Knowledge and background in public K-12 educational environment preferred
  • Valid Missouri and/or Kansas Driver’s License.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with administrators, district staff, teachers, students and general public, dealing with all individuals courteously and tactfully.

  • Monitor outside vendor contracts of maintenance and custodial
  • Safety Coordinator for the district
  • Day to day operation of district warehouse
  • Manages facility projects
  • Assists in capital outlay for building improvements
  • Assists in budget development in all areas of responsibilities
  • Assists in day to day operations of the district
  • Function as liaison for Federal legislation related to facilities including the ADA
  • Maintain asbestos management plan and update as necessary
  • Other duties assigned as necessary
  • Organize, coordinate, and direct the district’s maintenance operations for facilities
  • Organize, coordinate, and direct the district’s maintenance operations for grounds
  • Supervise, direct, and coordinate the district’s custodial operations
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel
  • Schedule and arrange training for personnel as needed to include professional development opportunities.
  • Responsible for staffing, training, and evaluating all areas of responsibilities
  • Make recommendations related to contracted services within the district
  • Supervise the district safety and security program
  • Other duties as assigned
