Job Description:

The School-Age Site Facilitator monitors and delivers before and after school program services and manages the daily operation of the before and after school program site including communication with the appropriate school staff, lesson/activities planning and related decision-making, and maintaining a safe school site environment for school-age children.

  • 9 ½ month school year position, on a 206 day calendar for the 2019-20 school year
  • Full-time, approximately 32.5 hours per week

  • Starting salary is Level D, Step 1 ~ $12.78/hr

  • Requires a two year associate’s degree/two year certificate program in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, or 60 college credit hours in related coursework
  • Requires prior experience in coaching/supervising children in a camp, educational or daycare program, and in designing and implementing a range of creative activities based on program goals, objectives, and the needs and qualities of students
  • Requires excellent communication skills (oral and written) and ability to work from written or oral instructions under limited supervision
  • Requires the ability to listen well and respond to questions from parents, staff, and students in a positive, professional manner
  • Requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Requires the ability to maintain confidential information
  • Requires the ability to effectively supervise program staff, strong interpersonal skills in working with children, and the ability to effectively supervise children
  • Requires the ability to redirect and interact positively with students
  • Requires the ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community
  • Requires the knowledge of working with children with disabilities
  • Requires the ability to work with a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural population
  • Requires the ability to work independently, use good judgment, think quickly and rationally, solve problems, and respond to stressful situations in a calm, caring manner
  • Requires the ability to remain flexible with the demands of the job without losing sight of the assignment
  • Requires the ability to work as a team player, communicate and collaborate with staff
  • Requires the willingness to complete job-related training
  • Requires knowledge of safety practices and procedures in working with children, and ability to obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certification during term of employment
  • Requires recent child care compliance training by the Missouri Department of Family Services or willingness to complete
  • Requires TB test and Hepatitis A vaccination series, or willingness to complete
