Job Description:
High School Family and Consumer Science teacher needed the 2020-21 school year.  

Missouri teaching certification required.  This position requires the ability to deliver the *Pro Start Curriculum.  Salary range:  $38,204 - $72,629 + full benefits.

*Pro Start is the curriculum is the program created by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation.  Industry-recognized Credentials can be received upon successful completion of an exam administered by someone other than the instructor.

Pro Start I...
Course Description:  ProStart students spend two years in the classroom mastering the fundamental management and culinary skills needed for success. LEVEL 1 students receive training in management, culinary skills, sanitations and safety, workplace safety, kitchen math, food handling and storage, sauces, stocks and soups, fruits and vegetables and serving guests. Students are required to participate in catering after school hours as well as during school hours. Students in good standing are allowed to compete in culinary competition.
Pro Start II...
Course Description: Studies will focus on breakfast foods and sandwiches, nutrition, cost control, salads and garnishings. Students in good standing will be able to compete in culinary competitions. Students will participate in out of school catering and in school catering as well. Students are required to participate in catering after school hours as well as during school hours.
Pro Start Internship...
Course Description: This is a mentored employment opportunity. Hours will be verified by paycheck stubs or volunteer forms when working on projects for catering.  Employers will sign off on all reports. This course is designed to help students obtain 400 hours for certificate of achievement. Students get hands-on experience in the culinary industry.
