Job Description:

Position Title: Food Service Kitchen Manager Reports to: Director of Food Service Classification:
JOB SUMMARY: To assist the kitchen staff in maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen resulting in nutritious and tasty meals. Position includes assistance with all related tasks as called for by the job description, administrative direction, and Board Policy.
1. Maintains confidentiality of office, staff and student matters.
2. Ensures that procedures for proper setup and cleanup of cafeteria and kitchen work areas are followed.
3. Ensures that district procedures concerning the handling of food items and work equipment are followed.
4. Supervises the maintenance of work area, equipment, and dining facilities in a clean and presentable manner at all times.
5. Supervises and assists with the preparation of all food products according to district production records.
6. Oversees the utilization of proper time, measurement and procedures for all cooking related tasks.
7. Demonstrates a proper working knowledge of all kitchen related equipment utilized in the food service program. Supervises the use of this equipment and trains employees as needed.
8. Ensures proper food preparation by supervising approved food recipes and prescribed production standards.
9. Continually reviews all recipes to ensure that nutritional requirements are met and that food is prepared economically and tastefully
10. Supervises the determination of appropriate quantities of all food items ordered through the food service office and being prepared. Makes the necessary adjustments according to production records.
11. Receives in weekly groceries, baked goods and dairy product deliveries and forwards invoices to the food service office.
12. Maintains an organized and clean food storage areas.
13. Coordinates work with other cooks, bakers, and server to ensure a minimization of wasted time and materials.
14. Ensures that all food items are replenished and provides assistance in all production aspects as needed.
15. Ensures portion control and maintenance of proper food serving temperatures.
16. Ensures that principles of sanitation and safety are followed with both handling food and equipment usage.
17. Possesses the ability to move and observe in order to properly maintain work space, prepare food, and serve as required in the position. Ensures performance of all employees in these areas through proper supervision.
18. Ensures that both state and local health requirements for food handlers are met.
19. Demonstrates a willingness to both provide and receive training and staff development relating all aspects of food service.
20. Demonstrates the ability to use and teach the use of computers as required for food service record keeping.
21. Ensures that all food service products are secure as well as all doors are locked upon departure of each day.
22. Demonstrates proper patience and sensitivity with students of all backgrounds and abilities.
23. Conducts self as a professional representative of the Warren Co R-III District at all times.
24. Other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position requires the training and supervision of all kitchen staff. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 1. High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
2. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in a school setting.

2. Ability to solve conflicts, maintain confidentiality and remain open to various ideas and viewpoints. MATHEMATICALSKILLS:
1. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
2. Ability to perform mathematical calculations to balance assigned budget items, invoices, bills, purchase orders and other related items.
