Overall Responsibility:
As a Lead Teacher with KRECC you will work together with our teachers, students and families to create and implement a positive learning environment for preschool aged students using a “learning through play” philosophy as well as your own knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices together with specific interests of the children.

- Have a passion for early childhood education and desire to help each child reach his or her potential
- Be a motivated team player
- Have knowledge of what is developmentally appropriate for preschool aged students
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities with your Co-teacher(s) that meet the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and materials to gain and maintain the interest of the students
- Construct and implement learning centers that promote physical, social emotional and cognitive development
- Be able to see the individuality and strengths in every child
- Excellent classroom management skills including, the ability to encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior
- Use a positive approach in dealing with disruptive behavior and make fair and impartial decisions regarding consequences
- Engage with students on an appropriate level throughout guided lessons, center time, free play and gross motor time
- Develop and maintain an appropriate, well-organized and clean physical classroom environment along with your co-teacher
- Ability to communicate and maintain a welcoming and constructive relationship with students, parents and teachers
- Conduct yourself with the highest level of professionalism
- Demonstrate high standards of appearance, ethics, and behavior which serve as a positive model for colleagues and parents.
- Be patient, nurturing, flexible and dedicated
- Be willing to take responsibility and initiative
- Be punctual and regular in attendance, spending sufficient time to perform assigned duties thoroughly
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time on the floor and able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Associate Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field, Bachelors Degree preferred
- At least 1 year of experience teaching preschool aged children
- Knowledge of Judaism is a plus but not required for this position
- Assigned to a four day work calendar of ten hours per day vary; 12 months; compensation and benefits (Dental and Vision). Employment discount for child care offered. Earned paid time off. Six paid federal holidays per year.
- Shift times are 7:30-5:30 or 8:00-6:00 with one hour break (paid). Must be available for both shifts.
