Job Description:
Summary:  Provides audiological services for proper educational management of students with hearing impairment or central auditory processing dysfunction.  Serves as a member of multi-disciplinary team in assessments of students with auditory acuity or central auditory processing difficulty.  Oversees audiological equipment needs and repairs.
Job Responsibilities:

Instruction and Learning – Student achievement/performance and staff growth
  1. Completes routine and audiometric evaluations including middle ear analysis and otoacoustic emissions analysis.
  2. Completes hearing aid evaluation (including programmable aids), makes recommendations for amplifications as needed, and maintains service for students with cochlear implants.
  3. Completes central auditory processing evaluations as requested by IEP committee or on referral from appropriate source.
  4. Keeps abreast of new developments in the field by attending regional and national conferences and intra-agency meetings.
  5. Provides in-service for SSD program personnel and outside agencies.
  6. Trains teachers in use of assistive listening devices, as appropriate.
  7. Supports and provides in-service to teachers of the hearing impaired.
Education and/or Experience:
Requires master’s degree in audiology and experience working with children with hearing loss. Experience working with children with other disabilities preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Missouri Audiology License and ASHA Certification required.
