WORK SCHEDULE:            8 hour work day, 260 days  (3:30 pm – 11:00 pm)
 
REPORTS TO:                    Director of Maintenance & Facilities
 
POSITION SUMMARY:       To maintain, a clean, healthy and safe environment for students and staff.
 
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:    
  • Ability to read and write.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to perform moderate to heavy manual labor
  • Ability to perform daily tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed  
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Cleans/maintains school facilities such as classrooms, restrooms, hallways, entrance doors, entryways, offices, floors, desks, chairs and walls.  This includes scrubbing, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting and waxing.
  • Replenishes supplies in restrooms and classrooms; changes light bulbs.
  • Removes snow and ice from sidewalks.
  • Empties trash receptacles.
  • Sets up chairs/tables for meetings and events.
  • Handles other duties as needed such as painting, cutting grass, making repairs, insuring rooms are securely locked.
  • Reports maintenance problems to Director of Maintenance & Facilities.
Other duties as assigned by Director of Maintenance & Facilities.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly sit, talk, listen, and respond. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, precise hand-eye coordination and the ability to identify and distinguish colors. Occasionally, the employee may lift up to 50 pounds, such as, to lift files, papers, and equipment. The foregoing is not an exclusive list and the employee may be required to exceed the minimum physical demand specifications should the safety and security of students and staff be compromised.
