Job Description:
The Brentwood School District seeks a Full-Time-Day Maintenance Technician for our schools. 
Brentwood is a small district with a diverse community of learners - and works hard to meet the needs of all learners while maintaining high expectations.
To provide students and staff with a safe, comfortable place in which to learn, play and work.  This position will provide general maintenance and repairs to ensure building systems operate efficiently and that buildings remain in good physical condition. 
Sample duties:
  • Complete building maintenance repairs throughout the district to include: minor electrical, painting, structural, plumbing, carpentry.
  • Complete repairs and installation of furniture or equipment as directed.
  • Complete grounds maintenance to include grass cutting and trimming, tree and bush trimming and trash and leaf cleaning.
  • Complete repairs of grounds or installation of grounds equipment as directed.
  • Attend OSHA training (cost borne by the district) and assist the maintenance supervisor with inspections and monitoring of all building materials throughout the district.
  • Assist HVAC technician with repairs and maintenance of HVAC equipment as assigned.
  • Complete maintenance inspection of all district buildings as assigned.
  • Assist with the completion of inventories of district maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Substitute for day custodians throughout district as assigned. (duties listed below)
  • Complete on-call duties on weekends and holidays as scheduled by the maintenance supervisor.
  • Report to work as directed for emergency situations.
  • Report to work as directed for ice control or snow removal.
  • Complete inspections and repairs of all emergency exit lighting.
  • Perform additional duties as required for short periods of time due to unusual circumstances.
Job Requirements:
  • Requires prolonged standing and considerable walking on level surfaces as well as climbing up and down stairs.
  • Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs unassisted.
  • Requires stooping, bending and reaching.
  • Must work in noisy, stressful and crowded environments.
  • Must work in and around chemical odors.
  • Must maintain appropriate levels of personal hygiene and sanitation.
  • Must follow district guideline regarding dress code.
  • Requires the full range of motion with neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, back, torso, knees and ankles.
  • Requires the ability to read & interpret documents such as operating & maintenance instructions, procedures, safety rules, etc.
  • Must work indoors and outdoors year-round.
  • High school diploma or GED strongly preferred; Post-secondary trade or vocational school certificate preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years verifiable experience in maintenance required.
  • School maintenance experience preferred.
  • Stable long-term employment with same employer preferred.
  • Knowledge of all areas of building maintenance, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and all general building maintenance duties preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must provide own tools.
  • Ability to meet the requirements of the district’s general maintenance technician job description.
Terms of Employment
  • 12-month, full-time position.
  • Entry salary range for this position is $17.35 - $20.65 per hour.  Final salary offered depends on years of verifiable experience.
  • Board paid medical, dental, and vision for employee.
  • Public Education Employee Retirement Fund (6.86% contributed by employee and Board matches)
  • Hours: 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. or 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and as needed.
  • As a condition of employment, all new hires will be required to complete a FBI, State Highway Patrol and Children’s Division of the Department of Social Services background check.
