Job Description:
Lee A. Tolbert Community Academy is a Kindergarten-8th grade public charter school located at 3400 Kansas City, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr/ Blvd MO 64109.

Lee A. Tolbert Community Academy is seeking a Special Education teacher with a very specialized case load who utilizes best practices to increase student achievement for all scholars. The primary responsibility is to implement, deliver, and promote high academic expectations to all scholars. The ideal candidate must be certified in Elementary and Middle School and work collaboratively with team members. The ideal candidate also possesses an educator certificate that allows him/her to teach students with an identified disability. 

An ideal candidate will also be able to teach grade relevant, subject matter that is specific, and aligned to the state's expectations for implementing an appropriate and effective Spanish program. 

An ideal candidate will prepare lesson plans, instructional aids, and will use supplemental teaching materials. 

An ideal candidate will assess student work and provide appropriate and timely feedback. 

An ideal candidate will be an active participant in professional development, and all meetings. 

An ideal candidate will communicate effectively with parents, and other stakeholders. 

An ideal candidate will hold a Bachleor's degree from a licensed and accredited university, and will consider oneself a lifelong learner. 

An ideal candidate is versed in writhing Individualized Education Plans for scholars.
