Job Description:
Summary: The position leads the district deployment of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention®. Provides district-wide professional learning, and supports effective implementation of the principles and practices of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention®.

Job Responsibilities, Collaboration and Resources Utilization
  1. Provide county-wide and on-site professional development and coaching to teachers/school teams/district teams to implement NCI.
  2. Provides job embedded coaching and support to educators/ teams.
  3. Keeps current with literature, new research findings, and resources.
  4. Supports data-based decision making through the use of quality tools and analysis.
  5. Positively contributes to a collaborative culture through effective communication and coaching.
  6. Advises district leaders in regard to NCI practices and assists Human Resources in regard to restraint practices.
  7. Communicates with Crisis Prevention Institute to coordinate professional learning for district instructors, receive and maintain accurate reports.
  8. Engages in regular/frequent cycle of improvement of key processes. 
  9. Aggregates, maintains, and reviews data related to the implementation of NCI strategies including but not limited to trainer certification, work injuries related to student behavior, student crisis data, and Board policy related policy infractions.
  10. Designs, monitors and adjusts NCI related scheduling as necessary
  11.  Participates in district-wide committees and Strategy Teams, as requested
  12. Participates in Regional CPI Cohort
  13. Leads the development  customized NCI Training for SSD
  14. Supports the coordination of deployment of NCI, via regular instructor meetings, communication with the districts Professional Development Committee.
  15. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
 Education and/or Experience:
  1. Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in special education or related field. 
  2. At least 5+ years as NCI Trainer; Master-level status
  3. Experience providing professional learning and coaching
  4. Principles and practices of continuous improvement
  5. Skilled collaborator and facilitator of groups
  6. Experience with behavioral support
  7. Use of technology is expected: creating charts and graphs
  8. Experience summarizing, analyzing data
