Job Description:
Summary:  Leads the department’s student services activities; admissions/student support, program improvement, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and district policies and requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
  1. Analyzes admission process efficiencies and effectiveness and generates improvement recommendations as needed.
  2. Responsible for timely and accurate eligibility assessment of applicants.
  3. Monitors and follows-up with at-risk students regarding progress toward educational goals, conducts counselling sessions to discuss performance indicators (attendance, grades, behavior, etc.), and sets new goals and expectations with students as needed.
  4. Informs and, if necessary, refers students to additional institutional and community resources when academic, behavioral, attendance, or other personal problems require intervention by other professionals.
  5. Provides guidance to students in job seeking skills including resumes, job search, interviewing, and selection/negotiation of employment offers.
  6. Responsible for planning, directing, managing, and ensuring compliance with all aspects of state, federal and institutional admissions and financial aid processes in accordance with statutory regulations and institutional policies.
  7. Counsels and assists students with questions regarding financial aid; how to apply, types of aid available, eligibility requirements and how aid is disbursed.
  8. Ensures student service practices are consistent with best practices in customer service, student persistence/progress and responsiveness.
  9. Assists in the collection, organization and reporting of institutional data, including required federal, state, accreditation, and district reports; ensures accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with reporting requirements.
  10. Collaborates with staff in the writing and disseminating of an annual Consumer Information Guide that summarizes key statistical data for the institution (e.g., demographic characteristics of the student body, graduation and retention rates, etc.).
  11. Assists with the preparation of institution communications for new and prospective students, including website, catalog, and handbook information.
  12. Functions as an interdisciplinary team member towards the development and improvement of program curriculum; works with department leadership and faculty in the development of course objectives, effective assessment strategies, and program outcomes to improve educational quality.
  13. Other associated duties as assigned.
Bachelor degree in an education-related field.  Experience in working with adults in a career education setting. Eligible for the Missouri Vocational Adult Supervisor Certificate. Experience in providing a variety of student support services.
