Job Title:
MO Leadership Development Specialist-St. Louis Region

Reports to: Director of St. Louis RPDC

Essential Functions:
*Builds community awareness of the resources and support available to leaders, schools and districts through the DESE MO Leadership Development System
*Leads, coordinates and supports the continuum of learning within the DESE MO Leadership Development System (Emerging, Developing, Transformational and Leadership Academy Academy).
*Coordinates, develops and facilitates professional learning experiences including, but not limited to,workshops, school site visits, coaching labs and individual coaching
*Acts as a resource and catalyst for individual, school and district-level leadership development
*Serves as an advocate for equity, supporting leaders across diverse school systems throughout the greaterSt. Louis region.
*Recruits and supports mentors for new administrators throughout the St. Louis RPDC school districts(Region 8)
*Supports the leadership development initiatives of Education Plus and the St. Louis RPDC
*Maintains an active and visible leadership role in the educational community
*Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the DESE Coordinator of Educator Evaluation and Training and the St. Louis RPDC Director

*Regular attendance is required to provide support to Education Plus and the St. Louis RPDC
*Possesses strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen, work in groups, communicate both verbally and non-verbally in a professional manner, negotiate with others, and solve problems
*Possesses the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
*Shows evidence of an ongoing customer focus
*Demonstrates knowledge of continuous improvement process models
*Requires movement about and within a department area
*Reads and interprets correspondence, reports, contracts, etc. for administrative purposes Operates computer hardware for programming or applications; stays abreast of changes in technology and participates in necessary training to maintain appropriate level of skill necessary for efficiency in position
*Visually obtains information from computer monitor
*Develops information for written reports and correspondence to officials inside and outside the organization

Required Education/Experience/Certifications/Licensures:
*Masters degree required, doctorate preferred
*DESE certification required
*Experience facilitating adult learning-knowledge of adult learning theory
*Service as a school principal required-5 or more years preferred
*Experience in urban school setting required
*Skill and knowledge of effective coaching practices
*Proven successful communication skills
*Demonstrated record of effective leadership and supervision

Salary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience.

Travel Requirements: The means and ability to travel within the St. Louis metropolitan area on a regular basis is required; travel to state meetings on a frequent basis is required (approximately 35 days per year). The nature of this position requires attendance at evening and/or weekend activities, including national, state and local conferences and meetings.

Expected Hours of Work: Normal operating hours are 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, unless it is determined by administration that hours should be different. Some evening or weekend work may be required on a periodic basis.

Term of Employment: Full Time
