Job Description:
Lexington R-V School District located in Lexington, Missouri is accepting applications for a Process Coordinator/School Psychological Examiner position starting with the 2019-2020 school year.  Applicant should have a degree in Special Education and DESE certification in Special Education. Preference will be given to those with a graduate degree in either Special Education Administration or School Psychology.  Prior experience is preferable. A Psychological Examiner’s certificate is desirable as well.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS INCLUDE:
INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP
  1. Supervises and coordinates special education programs, policies and diagnostic procedures.
  2. Organize and ensure completion of all evaluation reports and IEPs.
  3. Conducts compliance efforts of special education PreK-12 through age 21; completes reviews of all special education, IEP/ER/IFSP documents, ensuring compliance with district procedures, state, and federal laws; identifies areas of need and works to develop and implement programs to address those needs.
  4. Performs and monitors evaluation and timelines to ensure appropriate student placement and programming.
  5. Supervise the special education process of referral, placement, provision of services, appropriate identification and placement of students with disabilities, and district compliance with local, state and federal requirements for special education.
  6. Effectively selects and appropriately administers in a timely manner varied individual tests to students referred for evaluation and reevaluation.
  7. Effectively interprets special education disability criteria, individual psychological and educational test data, and diagnostic reports to principals, teachers, parents, support staff, and agency personnel, as appropriate.
  8. Establish and maintain effective communication with all staff members and outside agencies as related to students, programs, co-located services, multi-agency and or multi-district efforts, grant opportunities or professional organizations.
  9. Promotes ongoing staff development.
SCHOOL MANAGEMENT
  1. Provides and monitors the effective day by day operation of the special education process.
  2. Assist in maintaining pupil personnel records.
  3. Assists in maintaining expected performance of students, teachers, and paraprofessionals.
  4. Participates in special education initiatives.
  5. Promotes and maintains a positive school climate.
  6. Demonstrates effective problem solving and decision making skills.
  7. Demonstrates effective organizational skills.
 
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Implements the policies and procedures of the district (reports to the Director of Student Services).
  2. Participates in professional growth activities.
  3. Demonstrates a sense of professional responsibility.
  4. Completes other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Student Services and the Superintendent or designee.
SALARY:
Placement on the teacher salary schedule plus an additional 10 days.
