JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:   To repair and maintain office and electronic equipment and systems.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Have knowledge and experience in the field of electronics.
  2. Have Electronics Technician Certificate
  3. Have experience in troubleshooting audio, video, fire alarms, intercoms.
  4. Possess good driving record and ability to operate medium duty truck.
  5. Have good attendance and work record.
  6. Have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES:  The AV/Electronics Technician is responsible for the following areas:
  1. Receive, test, inventory, assign and deliver new equipment.
  2. Order parts and maintain stock for repairs.
  3. Install and repair electronic equipment.
  4. Perform preventive maintenance, installation and repairs on equipment and systems as needed:
    1. Fire alarm systems, intercom systems,
    2. Security alarms, security cameras
    3. Copiers, printers, shredders, laminators
    4. Transmitters, receivers,cable TV systems, television and video equipment,
    5. Public address systems, audio equipment, scoreboards, spotlights and theatrical lighting systems,
    6. Remote entry door systems
    7. Projection equipment
    8. Perform other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  (also see Physical Demands Checklist, attached)
All Facilities Department positions are physically demanding and require the ability to lift up to 100 lbs., work off of ladders and scaffold, work in confined areas with frequent stretching, twisting, and bending.  Specific job categories may be more strenuous and may require different physical abilities, but all jobs incorporate the above requirements.
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT / CONDITIONS:
School or office setting.
 
EQUIPMENT / TOOLS/ MATERIALS USED:
Electronic testing tools, Hand tools, and Drills, including all hand and power tools necessary to the position.
 
REQUIRED PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
All Personal protective equipment Required
 
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Assigned to 260 day work calendar; 8 hours per day vary; compensation and benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life) as provided by the Board of Education.
