Purpose Statement
The Director of Academic Achievement and Accountability will work within the Blue Valley
School District to improve the quality of District assessments and data systems in order to
produce accurate indicators of the progress of all students regarding strategic plan goals.

Essential Functions
  • Oversees the District’s standardized assessment program, which implements the monitoring system for student achievement, perception data, program data and demographic data.
  • Provides leadership in developing a system which includes collecting and reporting statistical indicators by schools, tracking changes, assisting with District and state accountability systems and conducting analyses of trends.
  • Collaboratively develops, reviews and monitors the District’s Assessment Plan to ensure a balanced approach in support of the Strategic Plan.
  • Collaborates with the entire Academic Services team to develop and deliver Professional Learning related to quality classroom assessment, effective use of assessment data and grading practices.
  • Collaborates as a member of inter-departmental teams to study demographic trends of programmatic issues that impact student achievement and provide advisement to Academic Services team.
  • Utilizes the District’s student data system to measure student performance over time to inform instructional and programmatic decision making, including intervention programs.
  • Works with post-secondary institutions to collect and analyze data to inform opportunities that will support student success beyond graduation.
  • Advises administration, staff and the Board of Education on policy related to student achievement and assessment.
  • Provides technical assistance to schools regarding assessment practices and procedures.
  • Establishes trend data for standardized assessments, suspensions, dropout rate, and graduation rate.
  • Facilitates the research request process for the district.
  • Leads and implements the District accreditation plan as outlined by KSDE (KESA).
  • Develops and delivers all required reports.
  • Develops and administers the assessment budget.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Experience: Building level administrative experience required

Education: Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Licensure by the state of
Kansas as a building administrator.

Reports to the Executive Director of Curriculum, Instruction & Innovation
