Work Schedule per week: 7:15am-4:15pm Monday-Friday

Job Summary
The Director of Instructional Technology oversees the information technology department and integration of technology in the classroom learning experience. The technology department maintains data and telecommunications infrastructure, purchases and maintains all hardware and software assets of the school and coordinates faculty and staff training on technology as needed.
Essential Job Functions
  • Research and distribute information on best practices for technology integration, trends, and applications related to technology used by both staff and students inside and outside of the classroom
  • Foster a collaborative and creative leadership with faculty members, teams and curriculum coordinators
  • Develop a comprehensive professional development plan for use of instructional technology and provide training opportunities for faculty on teaching and learning technologies
  • Be capable of teaching students in a classroom setting
  • Develop and evaluate both short-term and long-term goals and plans for technology
  • Supervise purchasing of all electronic assets, including computer hardware
  • Manage all software licensing
  • Plan and manage the installation and maintenance of telecom and data networks
  • Maintain relationships with contractors and vendors
  • Act as top-level technical contact for all support contracts
  • Coordinate and direct Information Technology operations including computer operations, technical support, systems analysis and programming, and data and telecom infrastructure
  • Contribute to general business planning regarding technology and systems required to maintain school operations and competitiveness
  • Maintain Microsoft Imagine Academy and manage Certiport Testing site for students and staff
  • Supervise staff within technology department
  • Provide efficient methods for staff and students to request prompt assistance with troubleshooting technology issues and assist with resolving issues
  • Coordinate and assist with student device checks multiple times per year
  • Provide billing information to clerk for damaged devices
  • Maintain policies for technology usage
  • Manage overall technology budget
Knowledge & Abilities
  • Strong technical knowledge with hands-on experience managing systems development and integration
  • Proficiency in integrating instructional technologies into learning environments
  • Ability to work effectively with professionals in an academic setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to effectively communicate challenging technological information to individuals with a variety of technology experience and educational backgrounds
  • Ability to establish best practices for managing technology
  • Possess strong collaboration, problem solving, and organizational skills
Education & Experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Prefer 3 to 5 years of experience in teaching and learning technologies
  • Prefer experience in information technology and/or network administration
