About Us
Established in 2007, St. Louis Language Immersion Schools, Inc. (“SLLIS”) is a not-for-profit language immersion charter public school located in the City of St. Louis in Missouri. SLLIS currently operates the following programs:  the Chinese Program, the French Program, the Spanish Program, and the Middle School Program. At SLLIS, students are taught in their focus language whereby 50% of the core subjects (math, language arts, science, and social studies) are in the focus language with the goal of academic literacy and a gifted and talented level of rigor for all students. Classrooms are bilingual environments.



St. Louis Language Immersion School in St. Louis, Missouri seeks full-time Kindergarten Teacher, to plan instruction appropriate to the subject(s), grade level(s), abilities, and cultural background of students; create and organize classroom rules, procedures, and routines; manage student behavior to ensure student learning; establish a culture of high expectations, diversity, cultural sensitivity, and understanding; establish clear content and language objectives for all lessons, units and projects, providing instruction to special needs students in conjunction with the Special Education Consultant to ensure that IEP student goals are being met; provide differentiated instruction as needed; maintain ongoing communication with students and parents about the student’s level of instruction, academic progress, and/or deficiencies; monitor and evaluate student progress regularly; represent the School and program to district, county, state, and/or federal community groups; interact with outside agencies as necessary; teach Summer classes if needed; and perform other duties as assigned.  

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Language, and Literacy, or a closely related field or equivalent combination of education, training or experience as determined by a qualified evaluation service.  The position requires near-native fluency in spoken and written English. A license to teach in Missouri or other states (Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, K-6, or K-8), or valid teaching credentials in the country in which the teacher received his or her training, is also required.
