Position Title:   Athletic Director/Floating Administrator

Reports To:  Assistant Superintendent of HR and Facilities

Summary:  Responsible for providing overall leadership, supervision, and coordination of all sports programs to provide students worthwhile learning experiences.  Responsible for scheduling contests, evaluating coaches, and assuring compliance with all Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) rules and bylaws.  Promotes extracurricular athletic and activity participation and works with coaches to foster skill development, understanding, sportsmanship, and an appreciation of the various athletic and activity programs. This position will also serve as a floating administrator at any of our buildings due to absence or need. 

Education and/or Experience:
  • A valid Missouri teaching certificate
  • At least one year of head coaching experience in Missouri.
  • Missouri Principal Certification Required

Must possess strong, positive interpersonal skills including communication, ability to work with a wide demographic, including parents/guardians, students, assistant coaches, community members, and district personnel.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence and memos.  Ability to write general correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in varied situations.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, stand, walk, see and use hands and arms to handle, feel and reach.  The employee is asked to run or jog, to demonstrate athletic moves, and to maintain a high level of energy.  The employee is responsible for field preparation and often is asked to complete strenuous work on the football or baseball fields when preparing a field for game play.   
Terms of Employment:
Contract terms covering compensation, benefits, and working conditions are specified by the Board of Education’s policies, agreements and approvals.  11-month position.
