Job Description:
Guadalupe Centers Charter Schools are a free, open enrollment, public charter school currently serving students in Pre-K and grades K-12. Guadalupe Centers Charter Schools are part of the Guadalupe Education System (GES) under Guadalupe Centers, Inc. It is sponsored by the University of Central Missouri. The vision of GES is to empower students to succeed in college and their chosen professions by providing a rigorous and enriching learning experience that develops highly educated, socially conscious, culturally competent, contributing members of society.

Summary: Housed on the campus of MCC-Penn Valley, the Early College Program Coordinator participates in and performs the more technical duties related to the support and supervision of students participating in the Guadalupe Centers Schools Early College Program. The Early College Program Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Student Services, but works closely with building principals and guidance counselors. Work contacts include administrators, faculty, students, parents, external organizations, state and federal organizations, Departments of Education, and the general public. Evening hours are required from time to time.

  • Coordinates and schedules students’ class schedules;
  • Arranges college campus tours and orientation programs for students’
  • Interprets policies pertaining to student services of the high school to include: admissions, registration, fiscal functions, and student activities;
  • Assists students with plans following the secondary school experience;
  • Evaluates transcripts, equivalency of transfer credit and compute GPA’s;
  • Determines eligibility for program participation and graduation;
  • Monitors academic, probation, and suspension status of students;
  • Manages student recruitment and selection activities; works with guidance counselors
  • Prepares and reconciles reports to comply with state requirements;
  • Inputs various student data and assists in maintaining student registration records;
  • Coordinates and performs work related to Student Information System (SIS) to assure compliance with statute to ensure accurate funding, submits all required school SIS reports to the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE);
  • Monitors and maintains various reports;
  • Works with faculty members regarding student performance and intervenes as appropriate;
  • Compiles, analyzes and reports all data related to ECP program;
  • Works in a team environment;
  • Communicates effectively orally and in writing to establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties.
  • Organizes student registration and enrollment functions;
  • Serves as a liaison between the district and the college;
  • Provides parents with information regarding the status and progress of students participating in the Early College Program;
  • Insures that home schools are provided with appropriate information and data in order to keep student records accurate and updated;
  • Assists students in the college and scholarship application process;
  • Assists students and parents in applying for and securing federal and state financial aid for college attendance;
  • Other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Student Services.
  • Associates Degree
  • Teaching or Counseling experience preferred
