Job Description:
The Grandview R-II School District has an immediate Elementary School Counselor position open for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year.  Interested parties should send a current resume, a completed employment application, three letters of recommendation, proof of certification, and transcripts to middle school principal Human Resource Specialist Rebecca McAnally at

  • Remainder of the 2023-2024 School Year

  • Four day work week schedule (Tuesday-Friday)
The EL/MS Counselor:
  • Provide support to the building Principal
  • Teach guidance units effectively have a prepare a scheduled by the beginning of  September
  • Guide students through career and life preparation
  • Help students establish goals and develop and use planning skills in collaboration with parents
  • Registering and scheduling of students
  • Testing coordinator/Proctor for the building (details below)
    • Will coordinate/train/prepare staff for testing
    • Collaborate with the building principal in development if testing schedule
  • Instrumental in preparing students for academic success and guiding all students in an effort to reach their maximum potential which could include college, trade, military, etc. Will include the MO Connections resources to create a four-year plan
  • Provides orientation for students new to the school
  • Serve as a facilitator for the student support team
  • Consults with teachers, staff, and parents regarding meeting the developmental needs of students
  • Provide support and guidance to school families
  • Build a professional working relationship with middle school families
