Part-time or Full Time Position
We specifically have a need for extended day teachers (7:15 - 8:30 AM and 4:00 - 6:00 PM) and individuals who are interested in working a few days a week. This position is great for college students in education related fields (teaching, counseling, social work, etc). 

Academy for Integrated Arts
The Academy for Integrated Arts (AFIA) is an innovative, arts integrated school. Our school community is reflective, hard working and caring.  The unique vision of AFIA embraces arts instruction integrated into the core curriculum as a meaningful part of what students do every day. Additionally, instruction is from a strong constructivist viewpoint and is delivered with developmentally appropriate practices. Job Description:
Teachers and assistant teachers of AFIA will:
  • Have a strong urban serving mission

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering differentiated instruction based on continual student assessment and specific students’ needs
  • Teach small groups of students who need extra academic support
  • Coach and assist students who have Social Emotional needs
  • Collaborate with the arts coordinator and teachers to support arts integration across the curriculum
  • Participate in continual, intensive job-embedded professional development 
  • Collaborate in the professional learning environment of the school, with students, families and the community
  • Engage in powerful, productive partnerships with families and students to ensure that instruction meets the needs of all students
Preferred Qualifications 
  • 60 College Hours (this qualification can be waived for extended day teachers) 
  • Passed the Para Pro Assessment
  • Passed the Paraprofessional Assessment
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal applicant will have experience working with children in a school setting.

This position could be part-time or full time.
Start Date: August 12, 2019 or as soon as possible
