The Academy for Integrated Arts (AFIA) is an innovative, arts integrated school. Additionally, instruction is from a strong constructivist viewpoint and is delivered with developmentally appropriate practices. AFIA is a fantastic community in which to work with an emphasis on teacher leadership. To learn more go to www.afiakc.org. For the 19–20, school year we would like to hire one Occupational Therapist t to work with all grades, PK – 6. This position is part-time (about 4 - 6 hours a week) and could be filled by a contracted position. 
Job Description:
Teachers and Support Staff of AFIA will:
  • Demonstrate a commitment to teaching students who are traditionally underserved

  • Hold or be eligible to hold the appropriate certification
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Plan and deliver instruction based on IEP goals and accommodations. 
  • Collaborate with the general education and SPED teachers.
  • Provide the least restrictive environment for students.  
  • Participate on the Student Success Team.
  • Support general education students as needed. 
  • Participate in continual, intensive job-embedded professional development.
  • Collaborate in the professional learning environment of the school, with students, families and the community.
  • Engage in powerful, productive partnerships with families and students to ensure that instruction meets the needs of all students.
