Elsberry High School is seeking a dynamic and student-centered educator to serve as a High School English Language Arts (ELA) and English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher. This dual-role position is designed to support students in developing strong literacy skills while also providing targeted instruction and support for English learners. The ideal candidate is passionate about reading and writing instruction, culturally responsive teaching, and meeting the diverse needs of all learners.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned ELA instruction for high school students
- Provide targeted support and instruction for English Language Learners (ELL), including language development and academic support
- Develop and implement instructional strategies that support literacy growth across diverse learners
- Monitor student progress and use data to inform instruction and interventions
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support ELL students in all content areas
- Maintain compliance with state and federal requirements for ELL programming and documentation
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports student engagement and success
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or related field
- Valid Missouri teaching certification in ELA (9–12) or ability to obtain
- ELL/ESL certification or willingness to obtain preferred
- Strong instructional, classroom management, and communication skills
- Commitment to supporting diverse learners and building strong relationships
