Job Description:
Valley R-VI School District is currently seeking qualified candidates for a 5th-6th grade classroom teaching position for the upcoming school year. This position is a full-time, salaried position. Interested part-time candidates would be considered as well.
Reports To:
The 5th-6th grade classroom teacher reports directly to the Elementary School Principal, while working under the authority of the District Superintendent.

Valley R-VI School District is currently seeking qualified candidates for a 5th-6th grade classroom teaching position for the upcoming school year. This position is a full-time, salaried position. Interested part-time candidates would be considered as well.

Qualifications:
- Education:
- A Bachelor Degree is preferred
- Certification/License:
- Appropriate DESE certification
- Certification in Elementary Education Grades 1-6 preferred
- Work Experience:
- Previous teaching experience preferred
- Elementary classroom grades 1-6 experience is preferable.
- Able to promote the district mission and a positive image of Valley R-VI Schools to students, staff, parents, and the public
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff and parents.
- Ability to collaborate and work as a team with other staff within the building and district
- Background in Elementary classroom
- Takes initiative, detail-oriented and is highly organized
Essential Duties:
- Develops and instructs the 5th-6th grade curriculum compliant with state guidelines and for the betterment of the students
- Responsible for the supervision and safety of students and staff while working in the district
- Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures, and maintains order in
- Promotes educational opportunities with students, parents, and community
- Establish a developmentally appropriate, positive, inclusive and safe learning environment that is conducive to learning
- Perform such other tasks and assumes such other responsibility as assigned by supervisors
