POSITION SUMMARY:
The Camdenton R-III School District is seeking a dynamic and motivated Art Teacher to join our team. Successful candidates will be responsible for facilitating student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills though implementing district approved curriculum, while addressing specific educational needs of individual students and creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Building Principal and other Central Office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy on Evaluation of Professional Staff (teachers)

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess and maintain proper Missouri teaching certificate for the area/content to which he or she has been assigned.
- Pass all background checks and screenings.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administers elementary school art curriculum consistent with district goals and objectives.
- Design and implement comprehensive art lessons covering art history, technique, and appreciation.
- Provide foundational visual arts education to students, focusing on fostering creativity, self expression and fine mortar skills.
- Demonstrate artistic techniques using various media (e.g., watercolor, clay, charcoal) and providing individualized guidance.
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
- Organizing school-wide art displays, exhibitions, and, in some cases, contributing to school performances.
- Conducts ongoing assessments to monitor student learning and progress; uses assessment data to plan instruction and make appropriate accommodations to meet individual student needs, including students with an IEP or 504.
- Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
- Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
- Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Coordinates with other elementary professional staff members, especially within grade level, to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
- Selects, requisitions and manages appropriate art supplies.
- Supervises students in activities that take place out of the classroom during the school day, including activities involving school transportation.
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Building Principal and other Central Office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- 9 month contract (179 days)
- Salary Schedule - Salary is commensurate with experience and education. Base salary starts at $43,500
