Atlas Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and qualified Reading Interventionist to join our dynamic team. The Reading Interventionist will play a crucial role in supporting students' literacy development by implementing targeted intervention strategies, assessing individual needs, and collaborating with teachers and parents. The successful candidate will have a passion for literacy, a strong understanding of reading instruction, and the ability to work collaboratively in a student-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assessment and Analysis:
- Conduct assessments to identify students' reading levels, strengths, and areas for improvement.
- Analyze assessment data to inform targeted intervention plans and instructional strategies.
2. Individualized Intervention:
- Provide one-on-one or small group reading intervention sessions to students with identified reading difficulties.
- Develop and implement customized intervention plans that align with students' individual needs and learning styles.
3. Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other stakeholders to integrate intervention strategies into the overall curriculum.
- Communicate regularly with teachers and parents to share progress, discuss strategies, and provide recommendations for at-home support.
4. Professional Development:
- Stay current with research-based best practices in reading intervention and attend relevant professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share expertise and contribute to the school's professional learning community.
5. Data Tracking and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of intervention sessions, progress monitoring, and assessment results.
- Generate regular reports to update teachers, administrators, and parents on students' progress.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Reading Specialist certification, Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid teaching certification.
- Proven experience in providing reading intervention at the elementary level.
- Strong understanding of literacy development and evidence-based intervention strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Familiarity with a variety of assessment tools and data-driven decision-making.
