Job Description:
POSITION TITLE:                             Occupational Therapist
 
 
F.L.S.A.:                                            Exempt
 
QUALIFICATIONS:                           Current Missouri certification
                                                          in Occupational Therapy (AOTCB)
 
REPORTS TO:                                  Director of Special Services
 
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:            190 days for new OT's'; 186 days for returning OT's as determined by the Park Hill School District academic calendar
 
 
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
 

1. Screen and evaluate students to determine the need for OT services.
2. Provide treatment of students as defined on the IEP.
3. Provide consultative services to classroom teachers, special education staff, and to parents both on a formal and informal basis.
4. Develop and implement home and school Occupation Therapy programs.
5. Document treatment and Medicaid billing logs.
6. Document and report evaluation findings and determine treatment needs based on evaluation results.
7. Assess adaptive equipment needs, order equipment, and instruct student/staff on equipment usage.
8. Supervise COTA and Occupational Therapy student internship programs.
9. Collaborate with teachers, diagnostic consultants, and family to provide information about student informally and at formal IEP meetings.
10. Demonstrate professional communication and behavior including independence and effective management of time.

          Attend professional conferences to update knowledge in OT techniques.
