JOB DESCRIPTION
Under direction, to teach and instruct handicapped pupils in multiple grade levels in academic, social, behavioral, and other educational skill areas; to plan, develop, organize, and conduct a comprehensive educational and remedial program for handicapped pupils; to assist special service pupils in making an appropriate adjustment to a mainstreamed educational process, requiring an increased level of independence; and to do other related functions as required.
SALARY RANGE
Starting at $41,000.00 (based on a Bachelor’s Degree)
This position works 7.75 hours per day, Monday - Friday following the school calendar and including scheduled professional development days.

- New employees receive credit for previous FULL years of verified experience in appropriate experience related to the area in which they will work.
- Current District 32 salary schedules.

Certified 9-month employees at Perry County School District 32 receive the following benefits:
- The district pays up to $650.00 per month for the employee’s medical insurance, which begins on the first day of the month following the official employment date. Vision, dental, and life insurance are optional and at employee expense.
- District-paid $10,000.00 life insurance policy.
- Paid leave: 8 sick days and unused sick leave will be cumulative to 180 days, with a maximum carryover of 172 days; 4 personal days that do not carryover, but are added to the annual sick leave and then qualify for accumulation.
- Excellent retirement package, with District-matched 14.5% contribution to PSRS.
