QUALIFICATIONS:  Requires K-12 Art Teacher Certification; Interest in Graphic Art Instruction Preferred

  • Accurately demonstrates knowledge of the content area and approved curriculum.
  • Teaches knowledge, skills, techniques in art, including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, etc.
  • Provides individual and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual and artistic abilities.
  • Organizes storage areas and controls use of materials, equipment, and tools to minimize time required for distribution and collection.
  • Creates a flexible programs and classroom environment that promotes learning and personal growth for all students.
  • Establishes effective rapport with students to motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation continued progress in accordance with each student’s ability.
  • Demonstrates appropriate long and short-term preparation for classroom instruction.
  • Holds high expectations for all students and sees themselves as facilitators of student learning.
  • Organizes and uses a variety of teaching techniques, strategies, materials, and technology to maximize the learning of each child, individually and in-group settings.
