Raymore-Peculiar School District
 is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Process Coordinator to join our dynamic team for the 2026-2027 school year! Process coordinators play a crucial role in supporting the effective implementation of special education services within the school district. This position involves coordinating the assessment and development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and providing guidance and support to educators, families, and support staff. The coordinator will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to promote inclusive practices and enhance educational opportunities for students with disabilities. The qualified candidate should hold or be eligible for a valid Missouri Certificate in Mild/Moderate Cross-Categorical Education or other similar special education area and have special education teaching experience. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the IEP development process, ensuring that assessments are conducted timely and that IEPs are created, implemented, and reviewed according to federal and state guidelines.
  • Ensure that all special education services comply with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), state regulations, and district policies. Conduct regular audits and assessments to maintain compliance.
  • Provide training and professional development opportunities for teachers, support staff, and administrators on special education processes, legal requirements, and best practices in inclusive education.
  •  Serve as a liaison between families, educators, and outside agencies, facilitating effective communication and collaboration to support students’ educational needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of IEPs, assessments, and progress reports. Utilize data to monitor student outcomes and inform instructional practices.
  • Assist in resolving disputes related to special education services, provide resources for families and staff, and promote positive behavior interventions and supports.
  • Identify and develop resources, materials, and programs that enhance educational opportunities for students with disabilities and promote best practices in special education.
  • Attend and participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional learning communities to provide insights and support.
  • Keep abreast of the latest research, trends, and legislation in special education to continually enhance processes and practices within the district.
