Key Responsibilities:
- Provide intensive, research-based reading instruction to small groups and individual students identified as needing supplemental support in areas such as phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary.
- Plan and design individualized and small-group lessons that align with Missouri Learning Standards and empower students to develop strategic reading and writing behaviors.
- Utilize a variety of assessment tools to collect, analyze, and synthesize student reading data to inform instruction and monitor progress.
- Collaborate effectively with classroom teachers to integrate reading strategies, share student progress, and ensure a cohesive approach to literacy development.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of student progress, goals, and interventions.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and provide strategies for home support.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as needed and ensure appropriate accommodations for students with special needs.
- Engage in continuous professional growth through workshops, seminars, and other development opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an applicable field of education.
- Valid Missouri teaching certification, with K-12 Special Reading Certification preferred. Elementary Education certification with a strong background in reading instruction will also be considered.
- Demonstrated knowledge of scientifically based reading research and evidence-based reading intervention strategies.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of elementary students.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret student data and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Successful completion of a fingerprint-based criminal background check.
- Master's degree in Reading, Literacy, or a related field.
- Experience providing reading intervention or support in an elementary school setting.
