Job Description:
The Soulard School is seeking full-time elementary classroom co-teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. Co-teachers are pairs of certified elementary teachers who share a classroom of 24 students and work together to plan and implement lessons. Major Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with co-teacher to build and implement lesson plans and curriculum based on student interests, student needs, and grade level standards
- Create units of study that integrate learning across subjects
- Create a positive educational climate for student learning
- Build and maintain positive relationships with families, as well as strong communication between home and school.
- Attend school events as specified in the teacher contract.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and peers.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education or related field required
- Possess, or be able to acquire, Missouri state teacher certification in Elementary or Early Childhood Education
- At least one year of teaching experience in an elementary setting preferred (public or nonpublic).
Required Skills and Abilities
- Warm and supportive attitude and disposition toward working with children and their families.
- Reliable in attendance.
- Willing to accept supervision in order to improve work performance.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Physically able to perform the job of a teacher of young children.
General Pay and Contract Provisions
- 40 hour work week with hours between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm
- School year to run mid-August through early June, with professional development beginning 8/6/25
- Health and retirement benefits including participation in Public School Retirement System of St. Louis pension plan
