Job Description:
The School District of Clayton is seeking full-time Site Leaders for the before and after school program (Clayton Kid Zone) at the District's elementary schools. The ideal candidate will be responsible for effective program management along with curriculum and program planning for the individual site. This is a ten-month, 40 hours per week position with benefits. Program hours with children on site are 6:45 - 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Time worked outside of program hours will be used for planning, professional development, purchasing supplies and administrative duties.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL:
Experience: Prior teaching experience or experience in a comparable program is preferred.
Compensation: $20.09 - $28.12/hour
Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Work Calendar: 192 day calendar.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL:
- Assist the Program Coordinator in these areas of responsibilities and others as assigned:
- Supervise a before/after school program at one of the district’s elementary schools.
- Organize and use a variety of teaching techniques, strategies, materials, and technology to maximize the learning of each child, individually and in group settings.
- Guide and direct Site Assistants in carrying out their responsibilities.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, school staff and district administrators.
- Maintain communication with parents via email and weekly newsletters.
- Guide Site Assistants in disciplinary matters and other interactions with children and/or parents.
- Provide care or assistance for medical and other emergencies.
- Design and maintain an attractive, orderly and safe environment that is conducive to student learning.
- Supervise all Site Assistants and the Assistant Site Leader.
- Plan weekly program activities.
- Assist the Program Coordinator in the planning of all full day programs.
- Assist Site Assistants with implementing weekly lesson plans, incident/accident reports.
- Provide the Program Coordinator with daily updates on activities and incidents.
- Keep the Program Coordinator informed of the performance level of each employee.
- Assist the the Program Coordinator in the employment, orientation and evaluation of new employees including interviews, training, etc.
- Complete required administrative tasks such as attendance, enrollment procedures, newsletters and any other tasks necessary for the program.
- Assist the Program Coordinator in staff development and in the planning and conducting of staff meetings; hold staff meetings when necessary.
- Participate in training, conferences and workshops for professional development.
- Maintain accurate staff and student records related to the SACC program.
- Work with the Program Coordinator to secure substitutes when needed.
- Become familiar with staff and parent handbooks.
- Model appropriate dynamics and student interactions. Use direct intervention as necessary and appropriate.
- Maintain appropriate staff/student ratios.
- Notify the Program Coordinator of needed supplies; maintain and manage supplies and program materials.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by the Program Coordinator and/or Director of the Family Center.
