Job Description:
SUMMARY:  Provides instructional leadership to staff including: curriculum planning, review and implementation; and professional development.   Responsible for building administration and the safety and welfare of both students and staff. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned.)
  1. Acts as executive officer of the Advisory Board and as such shall be responsible for the organization and administration of the Career Center
  2. Makes policy recommendations to the Advisory Board on matters that affect the career center
  3. Recommends all additions or changes in personnel and in personnel policy
  4. Submits an annual budget and administer the budget as approved by the Advisory Board
  5. Advise and assist with obtaining local, state and federal funds for improvement and expansion of the career center
  6. Responsible for the preparation of all reports required by the Advisory Board and by local, state, or national agencies
  7. Recommends site utilization to the Advisory Board
  8. Recommends the establishment of the citizen's advisory committees
  9. Directs the development of the school building programs
  10. Be active in the development of career education through participation in local, state, and national programs
  11. Responsible for the planning, developing, coordinating, supervising and evaluating of all curricula
  12. Responsible for the certification of all instructors
  13. Assumes primary responsibility for the supervision and evaluation of instruction.
  14. Responsible for the accumulation and organization of data relative to the educational needs of the community
  15. Approves travel requests
  16. Approves requisitions for instructional supplies and equipment
  17. Prepares comprehensive annual report to be presented to the Advisory Board
  18. Perform other duties assigned by the Advisory Board and the North St. Francois County R-I Board of Education                                                                  
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all employees within this center, including all classified and certified personnel. 
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Master's Degree in Education, Minimum five years teaching and/or administrative experience. 
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Valid Missouri Director’s CertificateLANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. 
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. 
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:  Knowledge of government funding.  Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in a specific field.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
