Job Description:

The Environmental Services Technician is a key member of the Environmental Services team responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the school campus. This role involves routine and detail-oriented cleaning, minor facility support, and ensuring all assigned areas meet health and safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Clean floor and wall surfaces using appropriate methods such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and washing with designated cleaning agents
• Promptly address spills and other hazards to maintain safe conditions
• Sanitize restrooms, the cafeteria, and other common areas
• Maintain organized and sanitary supply closets and clean all custodial equipment after use
• Monitor school facilities for potential safety hazards and report concerns to a supervisor
• Assist with setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for school events
• Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables in designated areas
• Support a positive and energetic team culture that contributes to a clean and functional school environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Understanding of safety procedures and proper use of cleaning products and equipment
• Strong attention to detail and a thorough approach to tasks
• Ability to communicate and interact professionally with students, staff, parents, and visitors

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Prior custodial or cleaning experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Capable of lifting, bending, stooping, climbing, and reaching
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
