The Northwest R-I School District seeks an enthusiastic and student- centered individual to fill this position for the 2025-26 school year. The successful candidate will be part of a high-energy and enthusiastic team of professionals, dedicated to meeting the academic, social and emotional needs of students.
This is a full-time position, with benefits, including:
Starting pay ranges from $23.80 - $26.50 The district will provide credit for up to 10 years of experience.

JOB SUMMARY:
Implements educationally based therapeutic programs under the supervision of an occupational/physical therapist.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists supervising therapist in the screening and evaluation of students as requested by therapist.
- Implements therapy programs as written by therapist.
- Participates in in-service training, both formal and informal.
- Supervises COTA/PTA students.
- Assists in the development of therapeutic programs with fabrication and monitoring of adaptive equipment.
- Assists in maintaining the therapy area and/or department.
- Assists in maintaining inventory and submits requisitions for supplies and equipment.
- Participates in both formal and informal conferences relative to the student’s performance as needed.
- Maintains professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues, other professionals and the general public.
- Maintains records of attendance and progress notes on assigned students.
- Submits monthly reports and other reports as requested.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and/or policy and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both one-on-one and group settings.
- Maintains confidentiality of student records.
- Provides necessary information related to a student’s IEP and participates in meetings as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned by the Administration.
- Associate’s degree from an accredited program in occupational/physical therapy assistants required.
- Missouri PTA/COTA licenses required.
- Experience in an educational setting is preferred.
- Maintain continuing education units as required in existing state standards for licensure.
