Raymore-Peculiar School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary Special Education Special Program Teacher to join our dynamic team for the 2025-2026 school year! Our ideal candidate will work closely with students with diverse learning needs, creating individualized plans and providing tailored instruction to help each child achieve their potential. This role involves working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a supportive and inclusive environment where all students can thrive.The qualified candidate should hold or be eligible for a valid Missouri Certificate in Mild/Moderate Cross Categorical Education or other similar special education area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs, goals, and learning style.
  • Deliver instruction in core subjects (e.g., math, reading, social studies) through differentiated and modified lessons that meet students’ academic and developmental levels.
  • Regularly assess and track student progress toward IEP goals using formal and informal methods, adjusting instruction as necessary to meet each student’s evolving needs.
  • Partner with classroom teachers to create inclusive learning environments and coordinate accommodations and modifications for students in general education settings.
  • Help students build social skills, self-regulation, and confidence through tailored activities and positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Maintain open communication with families to keep them informed of their child’s progress, address concerns, and collaborate on strategies to support learning at home.
  • Keep accurate records of student progress, IEP updates, and communication, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.
  • Attend IEP meetings, collaborate with school staff, and participate in professional development to stay updated on best practices in special education.
