Raymore-Peculiar School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary English Teacher to join our dynamic team for the 2025-2026 school year! The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching literature, language arts, and writing to students in grades 9-12. This position requires a strong understanding of the English curriculum, the ability to foster critical thinking, and the capability to create an engaging classroom environment that promotes learning and intellectual growth.  The qualified candidate should hold or be eligible for a valid Missouri Certificate for English Grades 9-12.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver effective lessons aligned with state and district standards.
  • Encourage and inspire students to develop a love for literature and writing.
  • Utilize diverse teaching methods, including hands-on activities, technology integration, and differentiated instruction, to meet all students' needs.
  • Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments and provide actionable feedback.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support student success.
  • Participate in professional development, team meetings, and curriculum planning sessions
