Raymore-Peculiar School District is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic team! Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT), the COTA will help implement individualized therapy plans, collaborate with educators and parents, and provide direct interventions that enhance students' functional skills in the school environment.

Raymore-Peculiar School District is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic team! Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT), the COTA will help implement individualized therapy plans, collaborate with educators and parents, and provide direct interventions that enhance students' functional skills in the school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the OT in conducting assessments and implementing therapy plans for students with disabilities or delays.
- Provide direct therapy services to students as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Support students in developing fine motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care routines.
- Adapt and modify classroom materials to support student participation and accessibility.
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and documentation in compliance with district and state regulations.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to integrate occupational therapy strategies into the classroom.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team discussions regarding student progress.
- Follow ethical, legal, and professional guidelines as set by state and district policies.
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) licensure in Missouri.
- Experience working with children, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.
- School year calendar - 184 work days
- Salary schedule placement acknowledging level of education and experience on column K of the Support Professional Salary Schedule.
