POSITION SUMMARY: The Executive Director of Teaching, Learning, and Professional Development will be a key leader within the Mehlville School District. This position will work collaboratively with district leadership, principals, teachers, and staff to ensure high-quality, research-based instructional practices, as well as effective professional development initiatives that support the growth and success of all educators.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Masters Degree required; 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience or as determined by the Board of Education. Specialist and/or Doctoral Degree preferred. Administration certification from the State of Missouri

Executive Director of Teaching, Learning and Professional Development

POSITION SUMMARY: The Executive Director of Teaching, Learning, and Professional Development will be a key leader within the Mehlville School District. This position will work collaboratively with district leadership, principals, teachers, and staff to ensure high-quality, research-based instructional practices, as well as effective professional development initiatives that support the growth and success of all educators.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of district-wide curriculum development and alignment with state and national standards as well as supports the implementation of instructional strategies PK-12 to ensure consistent high- quality instruction
- Develop and implement a comprehensive professional development program aligned with district goals, teacher needs, and student outcomes
- Coordinate and lead workshops, training sessions, and seminars focused on enhancing teacher effectiveness and promoting lifelong learning
- Create and implement the annual Professional Development Plan for the District, collect/analyze data related to professional development activities and support/conduct/participate in summer professional development of certified staff
- Plan, serve on and facilitate the District Professional Development Committee
- Coordinate and conduct New Teacher Orientation annually with support from the curriculum team
- Collect and analyze data from assessments, classroom observations, and teacher feedback to inform instructional practices and drive student achievement
- Provide mentoring and coaching to instructional leaders, curriculum team members and teachers to support the improvement of classroom instruction
- Assist school principals in managing and evaluating teachers' instructional practices, setting professional growth goals, and ensuring effective teaching across the district
- Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including district leadership, principals, teachers, parents, and community members
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding instructional priorities, professional development opportunities, and district initiatives
- Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in education, instructional technology, and professional development
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and professional growth within the district’s teaching and learning environments
- Lead efforts to incorporate new technologies and teaching methods that enhance student engagement and academic achievement
- Other duties may be assigned
