Job Description:
Courageous Academy is seeking qualified applicants to teach students with specials needs in grades Pre-K - 12th Grade. The applicant must possess a belief that all children can learn and all students can succeed if given proper instruction, support and encouragement. The qualified candidate must be highly motiviated and is familiar with state laws governing students with special needs. It is highly recommended that applicants understand testing measurements used to identify children with special needs. Having a knowledge of the IEP process and how the IEP document is implemented daily is helpful. Having  great Classroom Management Practices, pacing of daily instruction,  and innovative teaching methods immersed in great teacher practices is highly encouraged. The Special Education Applicant must possess a knowledge of the Special Education Referral Process, student identification, the IEP, goals, objectives and benchmarks. Most important, the classroom teacher must know how to implement the IEP and chart progress on the annual goals and benchmarks. Assisting each student while maintaining positive relationships wkth the parents and support staff is essential. It is important that the applicant know how to establish and maintain positive relationships with each student and staff member creating a learning enironment that is warm, welcoming and inviting.
